Hello! I’m Professor Nicoletti. I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Guttman Community College CUNY. When moving from high school teaching to college teaching, I was drawn to community college because I was passionate about relieving the pressure no-credit Elementary Algebra put on students. I came to Guttman specifically because of it’s innovative approach to learning and the use of integration in the classroom. My doctoral research investigated the impact of integrating mathematics and music, combining two areas I love. In addition to my many years studying mathematics, I have studied music, specifically piano, for close to 30 years. I majored in both music and mathematics as an undergraduate (in addition to majoring in English and minoring in History), and both my Masters and Doctorate are in Mathematics Education.
This site is a repository for the OER materials I have created throughout my time at Guttman. It includes my videos from Statistics as well videos and several activities from College Algebra and Precalculus.
The resources under each course tab can be used to provide students with supplemental instruction to support in class learning or to provide asynchronous instruction for alternate modalities. Even when teaching traditional in person courses my students find the videos beneficial to stay on top of material if they miss a day of class. I post the playlist to my course page at the beginning of the semester so they can refer back to it as needed.
